Jermaine Dupri's long-awaited solo project JD debuted in February 1998 with the single "The Party Continues", which quickly went gold. The album Life in 1472: Original Soundtrack followed in July, with an all-star cast of Dupri partners, including Jay-Z, Nas, Usher, Mase, Lil' Kim, Mariah Carey, Too Short, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Slick Rick.
